Work hard. Play hard.

First of all, I hope everyone is having a great summer and balancing their life between work and play effectively. I went to the beach yesterday with my friends (which is why I didn't post) and had an amazing time! And in case any of you were wondering, yes we did build sand castles & had a lot of fun doing so! At the beach there was a young exchange student from Russia, he only spoke a little bit of English but he still helped us out with the sand castles we were building. This made me think; if he could communicate and get along with us without even speaking much English, then why do those of us who speak English  have so much trouble getting along with one another?

Actions speak louder than words and you have to think how those actions come across to everyone else. I believe in the saying 'What goes around comes around', I think that making a small action to improve someones day- even if it is as simple as taking a photo for someone so no one is left out of the picture- then good things will come back to you one day. 'Treat others how you would want them to treat you', Another cliche saying, although if everyone did and took a second to think before acting, the world would be a much more peaceful place. If you cannot change what has happened in a situation, then you can change how you think about it, there is no use letting something eat away at you, instead try to change the way you feel.

Trying to get to a place where you are content with your life is a place that many people struggle with, if you think about the last time you felt truly happy and at peace it may be hard. So start with what you know makes you happy and make time for yourself, even if it's just an hour a week to read a new book. Balance is the key to happiness (as well as laughter). Work hard. Play hard. Cassidy xx
